Sketchbook Cover

The picture I took was the picture of the crab. I took that picture at the beach with my mom's Canon Powershot sx510. This is a good photo because the photo was taken at a good angle with good lighting and good focus on the crab. I value this photo because I really love the beach and it was taken on a really special family vacation this past summer. My theme is happiness. Everything I put on my cover is something that makes me happy. I love music, as a kid I had always loved dandelions, I love to snowboard, and love the summer. Also I find the color yellow a very bright and happy color. I used unity in my cover with the colors yellow and black throughout and repetition with the squares throughout the collage.

My Best Photo

This photo is my best photo.  This picture is special to me because I had passion in what I was taking.  This is a photo of my dog, Sandy, before she died. I really liked the way the photo looked because it made her look like she was smiling and happy.  This is my best photo also because of the way it was taken.  I loved the angle that the photo was taken at.  The way the light came into the background and the slight shadows below her eyes and under her mouth just made the picture perfect.

Qualities of a good photograph

 

A good photograph must evoke some sort of emotion or make you and the viewer respond a certain way.  The photo should also tell a story or have the ability to let the viewer create their own story. Without this ability, the viewer will lose interest in the photograph. Things like good lighting can play a big part in keeping the viewer intrigued in the photo. You have to show passion in what you are photographing. Don’t just take pictures of whatever; take pictures of things that other people don’t notice or things that you personally enjoy.
