Final Composition Project

Top Photo: Symmetrical Balance
This Photo was a picture of my walk home from the bus stop. Using elements and principles of design help make the photo look more interesting and grab your attention and in this case make you look toward the trees and see the symmetrical balance.

Left Photo: Leading Lines
This photo was also taken on my walk home into my house. In this photo, using elements and principles of design makes your eyes follow the lines of the walkway up to the front door of my house using leading lines.

Top Right: Proportion and Scale
This picture was taken at Ski Round Top at the top of Minute Man with my younger brother's friend Joe. In this photo, using elements and principles of design make you focus on Joe with the slope looking smaller in the back using proportion and scale.

Center Right: Unity
This picture was taken at the lockers where I sit with my friends every morning. In this picture, using the elements and principles of design help you see the unity that everyone is sitting down and have the same posture and similar positioning.

Bottom Left: Framing
This photo was taken on our way up to Ski Round Top. In this picture, using the elements and principles of design make you focus on the road and mountain ahead by using framing.

Top Left: Simplicity
This picture was taken on the ski-lift at Ski Round Top. In this picture, using the elements and principles of design show the simplicity of this plain picture of the dark sky and white snow.

Bottom Left: Horizon Line
This picture was taken during english class. In this picture, using the elements and principles of design make your eyes follow across the picture as looking at the horizon of a sunset would.

Top Right: Asymmetrical Balance
This photo was taken at my bus stop in the morning with my two neighbors. In this photo, using elements and principles of design makes you follow the side walk but notice the difference between the two side of the photo by using asymmetrical balance.

Center Right: Rule of Thirds
This picture was taken getting into the car. In this picture, using the elements and principles of design help you see each part of the picture with rule of thirds. If you split the picture into thirds then you would be able to see each of the intersection points of the photo.

Bottom Right: Movement and Rhythm
This picture was taken driving across the bridge into our neighborhood. In this picture, using the elements and principles of design shows the movement in the picture and takes your eyes across the picture.

The benefits of using elements and principles of design are that they allow the photo to become more interesting and give your eyes a place to go within the picture.
